Even though I have started a photography business I also work full time as a Digital Producer and currently working at the Institute of Directors (IoD).
The colleagues in my department all know I’m a photography enthusiast and have a professional camera (a DSLR is ‘professional’ as far as they are concerned) so when they need the occasional photos of staff taken for social media profiles or for the press, they ask me.
We run a group on LinkedIn for IoD members and recently my team and I have been asked to be Community Representatives (alongside doing our day jobs) so today I did a mini photo shoot.
This is my photo (as I think my colleagues are too shy to appear on my blog) – taken by one of my colleagues after I had taken everyone else’s photos. She was worried about what to do but I’d set everything up for her so all she had to do was point and shoot. I prefer working on manual mode so that I am in full control of the settings on my camera.
I’ve left the photo above uncropped so that you can see that I used a reflector as there’s a dark brown door which would have made one side of my face very dark. As it was a dull day I used the silver side of the reflector to bounce the light back into my face. The photo below is the cropped version that I’m using on my LinkedIn Group Community Representative profile.
