Hi! This is the blog that accompanies my website, Kathryn Choi Photography.
I passed my A-Level in Photography in 1993 and have been taking photos as a hobby ever since. After doing my A-Levels I did dream of becoming a photographer but back then it was an expensive hobby to have and I was persuaded to go to university and pursue a more stable career. For the last 4 years my interest in photography has been reignited as the cost of owning a digital camera have become more affordable. In 2010 I decided to go try to fulfil the dream of becoming a photographer I had 18 years ago.
I enjoy taking photos of people so my business specialises in photographing weddings, civil partnerships, portraits (including individuals, families, children, couples, groups, etc.). Outside of the professional arena I also enjoy taking landscape, macro (extreme close ups), and travel photography.
Occasionally I organise photography events for the London Flickr Meetups group. Amateur photography groups have been a big part of my social life in the last few years so by organising some of the events I hope that I can make photography enjoyable for other people.
I am also a member of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), an organisation that promotes the art and science of photography. I hope to obtain distinctions for my work over the coming years as my photography skills and knowledge improves.
You can see a small range of my photos in my portfolio on the RPS website.
